As always, it's important to have a balanced diet rich in Omega 3s, protein, and carbohydrates.
In my opinion, all types of fruits and vegetables should be eaten everyday. Eating a wide-variety, if you can find it, is best.
Where I am right now all types of melon, nectarines, peaches, paraguayas, plums, apples...are in season. It's funny but I tend to eat more fruit in the summer. It's refreshing, cool, and easier to come by.
When running I make sure to stock up on bananas, nuts, non-fat dairy (yogurt and chocolate milk), fish and whole grains. I also make sure to drink a lot of green tea. It has great antioxidant properties and is also known to eliminate belly fat.
Be sure to incorporate foods like these into your diet and stay away from processed foods, sweets, and saturated fats as much as possible.
However, it's okay to treat yourself once in awhile. Just don't binge!
